RingCentral
Connecting RingCentral lets UpSmith read your call logs and recordings, so your phone calls sit alongside your texts instead of in a separate system nobody looks at.
There's no key to copy and nothing to send to RingCentral. You authorize UpSmith once from your RingCentral account and it's done.
Connect it
Go to Integrations and find the RingCentral tile under Calling. It reads "Access call logs and recordings for transcript analysis."
Click Connect. You're sent to RingCentral to sign in.
Authorize UpSmith.
You're sent back to UpSmith and the card shows RingCentral as connected, along with the account you used.
Authorize with an account that can see your whole company's call history. A RingCentral admin is the safe choice. If you sign in as someone who only sees their own extension, that one extension is all UpSmith gets.
Which RingCentral accounts work today
Standard RingCentral accounts — the ones you sign into at RingCentral itself — connect as described above.
Rebranded RingCentral services don't connect yet. Some carriers resell RingCentral under their own name — AT&T Office@Hand is the common one. Those sign in somewhere other than RingCentral, and UpSmith can't reach them today. If that's your phone system, email support@upsmith.com so we know you're waiting on it.
What connecting actually gets you
Connecting RingCentral brings your call data into UpSmith.
Turning it off
Click Disconnect on the RingCentral card and confirm. UpSmith removes its stored RingCentral credentials and new call data stops arriving. Calls already in UpSmith stay where they are, and you can reconnect any time.
Troubleshooting
The button says Reconnect. Your RingCentral authorization lapsed and call data has stopped arriving. Click Reconnect and authorize again. Nothing else needs touching.
The connection failed after you authorized. The handoff back to UpSmith didn't complete — for example, if the RingCentral sign-in page sat open too long. Start again from Connect.
It says connected but only some calls are showing up. Check which RingCentral account you authorized with. If it only sees certain extensions, that's all UpSmith gets. Disconnect and connect again as a RingCentral admin.
Your sign-in page isn't RingCentral's. You're probably on a rebranded service like AT&T Office@Hand. See Which RingCentral accounts work today above.
The card is stuck checking the connection. Refresh the page before assuming anything is wrong — a brief problem reaching UpSmith looks the same as a broken connection.
Common questions
Do I need an API key or a call to RingCentral support? No. Click Connect, authorize, done.
Does this let my agents answer calls? No. This is about reading your call data. It doesn't put an UpSmith agent on your phone line.
Can I connect RingCentral alongside another phone system? Yes — the tiles under Calling are independent.
Will it pull in historical calls or only new ones? Ask us at support@upsmith.com before you rely on history being there.
Are call lengths accurate? Not yet for RingCentral. A call that moves between lines can be recorded as more than one piece, so treat call duration as approximate for now. The calls themselves, and their recordings, come through.
