Logging In & Managing Your Credentials

Everything you need to sign in to UpSmith, reset a forgotten password, and fix the most common access problems.

Where to sign in

You access UpSmith from your web browser at app.upsmith.com. Use the email address your account was set up with.

UpSmith sign-in screen

Reset a forgotten password

  1. Go to the sign-in page.

  2. Select Forgot password?

  3. Enter the email tied to your account.

  4. Check that inbox for a reset link and follow it to set a new password.

The reset link is time-limited. If it's expired by the time you open it, just request a new one.

Common login problems

No reset email arrived. Check spam/junk, confirm you used the email your account was created with, and allow a couple of minutes. Still nothing? Your address may not be on the account — see escalation below.

"Invalid credentials" on a password you're sure of. You may be using a different email than the one on file, or caps lock is on. Reset the password to rule it out.

Locked out after too many attempts. Wait a few minutes before trying again, or reset your password to clear it.

Someone has left the company / someone needs access removed. Adding, removing, or changing teammate access is account management, not a login fix — that's handled by an admin on your account.

Still can't get in?

If a reset doesn't resolve it, email UpSmith support at support@upsmith.com and include the email address on the account and what you see when you try to sign in.

Getting Started with UpSmith: Your First 30 Days

What to expect from the moment you sign on with UpSmith through your agents running on their own — most operators are live within about 30 days.

What UpSmith needs from you

UpSmith runs on top of your existing ServiceTitan. To get started, your UpSmith team needs a connection to your ServiceTitan instance and a short alignment on how your shop works — your trades, your service area, your scheduling rules, and how you want your agents to sound.

What the first 30 days look like

Connect. UpSmith integrates with your ServiceTitan so the agents can read your customer records and write bookings, confirmations, and updates back where your team already works.

Configure. With your UpSmith onboarding lead, you decide which agents to turn on, how they should sound, when they reach out, and who on your team gets notified when something needs a person. This is also where suppression rules and outreach windows get set.

Go live. Your agents start engaging customers over SMS. Early on, your UpSmith team watches closely alongside you so anything off can be caught and tuned quickly.

Monitor and tune. As real conversations come in, messaging and timing get refined. You'll start seeing results — bookings, confirmations, saves, recovered revenue — show up on your home screen.

What's UpSmith's job vs. yours

UpSmith leads the setup, integration, and tuning — it's a guided, white-glove process, not a tool you configure alone. Your job is to give UpSmith an accurate picture of how your shop runs and to tell your team what to expect when notifications and escalations start coming through. One area that often requires coordination before your agents go live is your website. To comply with SMS messaging regulations, your opt-in forms need to include a phone number field, an explicit consent checkbox, and language that covers all message types — appointment updates, marketing, and promotional messages. If you don't have an SMS opt-in page for each of your brands or locations, you'll need to add one. This work typically falls to your website provider or internal marketing team, not UpSmith — so plan for that handoff early. Your onboarding lead will flag exactly what's missing and what the language needs to say. (Exact steps, owners, and timeline vary by account and how many agents you launch — your onboarding lead will walk you through your specific plan.)

Getting your texting compliant: A2P 10DLC registration

Before your agents can text customers, U.S. carriers require every business sending SMS to be registered — this is called A2P 10DLC.

What UpSmith handles. As your messaging platform, UpSmith prepares and submits your 10DLC registration and manages it.

What we need from you. Gather this early so registration isn't the thing holding up go-live:

  • Legal business name and EIN (your IRS business tax ID) — exactly as they appear on file. One set per brand or legal entity you text under. Note: an EIN must be at least 15 days old before it can be used, so brand-new entities may need to wait.

  • Business address, website, and a contact for the registration.

Your website opt-in. Registration has to show how customers agree to be texted, so each of your brands or locations needs a compliant SMS opt-in on your site. That means a phone-number field, an explicit consent checkbox (not pre-checked and always optional to submit the form), consent language that covers every message type you'll send — appointment updates, marketing, and promotional — and a link to your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you don't have this for a given brand or location, you'll need to add it. This work typically falls to your website provider or internal marketing team, not UpSmith — so plan for that handoff early. Your onboarding lead will flag exactly what's missing and what the language needs to say.

A heads-up on escalation volume

Once your agents go live, they'll hand off conversations that need a person — a complaint, a pricing question, a customer who'd rather talk to someone. Early on, this can be more escalations than teams expect, especially in the first couple of weeks while messaging and targeting are still being tuned. That's working as intended: the agents are routing the conversations that genuinely need you instead of guessing. Plan for someone on your team to own these hand-offs day to day — the volume typically settles as tuning dials in. How escalation works and how to reach a person is covered in Escalation Failure.
