Google Local Service Ads

Bring your Google Local Services Ads (LSA) leads into UpSmith. Setup is fully self-serve and takes about five minutes — you sign in with Google right from the integrations page, then pick which LSA accounts you want to sync. Once an account is active, new leads are answered by your AI agent automatically.

Google account + LSA

The flow at a glance

One sign-in links your Google account; then you choose the LSA accounts to connect. If a single Google login manages several LSA accounts, they'll all appear and you can activate each one independently.

  1. Manager Account — You have a Google Ads manager account over your LSA accounts.

  2. Connect & authorize — Click Connect and sign in with Google.

  3. Select & go live — Pick the account(s); leads then auto-engage.

Before you begin

  • A Google account that manages your LSA accounts. A Google Ads manager account works best — during connection UpSmith finds every Local Services account reachable from the account you sign in with, including accounts nested under a manager.

  • A lead responder set up. Your AI agent answers each incoming lead. Make sure an agent with a linked channel is assigned in Lead Settings so leads have somewhere to go once accounts are active.

There's nothing to switch on first — the Google Local Services Ads card is ready on your Integrations page.

Step-by-step

1) Click Connect on the Google LSA card

Go to Integrations and find the Google Local Services Ads card under Available. It shows Not Connected. Click Connect to start — UpSmith sends you to Google to sign in.

2) Sign in and authorize with Google

On Google's screen, choose the account that manages your LSA accounts and grant UpSmith access. Google then returns you to UpSmith, and the card switches to Connected. You can reconnect or sign out anytime from the same card.

3) Open the card again and select your LSA accounts

Back in UpSmith, click the Google Local Services Ads card once more to open the Manage integration panel. UpSmith lists the LSA accounts it found under your Google login. Activate the account(s) you want to sync — each one shows its own lead counters (total, synced, pending, failed) and status.

  • First account: you'll be asked to choose the agent that answers leads — pick your lead responder. (This only appears for your very first account.)

  • Auto-reply is on by default, so leads are answered automatically. You can disable it per account.

  • Use Poll or Refresh to pull the latest leads and account status on demand.

4 · You're live — leads engage automatically

Once an account is Active and your lead responder is on, every new LSA lead is picked up on the next sync and answered automatically. That's it — your Google LSA leads now flow into UpSmith.

Once accounts are active, the integration runs on its own. Useful behaviour to know:

  • Activate / Deactivate — Turn any LSA account on or off individually — handy when you add or pause a location.

  • Auto-reply toggle — Enable or disable automatic responses per account without disconnecting.

  • Business name — Set a display name per account, or leave it to default to your organization name.

  • Poll & Refresh — Pull new leads and refresh account status on demand; the panel also updates on its own.

What this unlocks in Ask Jenny

Answering leads is only half of what connecting Google gives you. Once an account is syncing, your Google spend and lead data flows into Ask Jenny every day — so you can ask about your advertising in plain English instead of exporting spreadsheets out of Google Ads and lining them up against your job data by hand.

Things you can ask once it's connected:

  • Spend and performance by campaign — spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and phone calls, by day or by campaign. "What did we spend on Local Services last month, by campaign?"

  • Cost per lead on Local Services — LSA leads arrive with their charged status, so cost per lead is a real figure rather than an estimate. "What did a lead cost us in July?"

  • Budget pacing — your daily budget against what actually spent, so you can see where you're capped out and where you're leaving budget on the table.

  • Spend against capacity by area — where you're buying more leads than you can service, and where there's room to buy more.

  • Return on ad spend — LSA spend lined up against the revenue it actually produced.

Because your Google data is joined to your job and revenue data by trade, you can also ask questions that cross the line between marketing and operations — what a trade really contributes once its ad spend is counted, for instance. And if the same Google login also manages regular Google Ads campaigns — Search, Performance Max — those come through alongside your Local Services data.

This works whether or not your agents are answering. The daily sync runs on its own and doesn't depend on what your agents do. If you switch Auto-reply off on an account, or an agent never gets to a particular lead, the spend and lead data still flows through to Jenny. Reporting and lead response are separate things.

Ask Jenny access depends on your plan. If you're not sure whether you have it, ask your UpSmith contact.
